Nobody sent ronyn anywhere. One morning the door was open, the road went somewhere, and that was reason enough.

What follows is most of what happened.

A wide valley town seen from above, under morning mist
The first morning, from above the fog.
Waited at the crossing. The mountain was there the whole time.

Everywhere turned out to be further than it looked, and better.

Took the long way. Took it twice.
Last train over the rooftops, nobody waiting at either end.

Found in the long grass, not at all lost.
ronyn watching the sun go down over the ocean
Sat down for this one.

Then it got dark, and the road kept going anyway.

ronyn's face lit green by a phone screen in the dark
Learned what a candle was. Mixed results.
Kept going.
